The Center for Foreign Investment Studies (CFIS) was established according to Decision 426/QĐ-TCNS on March 11^th 2010 by the UEB Rector. The center has its own legal responsibility, stamp and bank account (including a foreign currency account).

The Center was established on the basis of a creative, dynamic and  professional research team trained in advanced countries. The Center has been actively supported by a Foundation Council with the ambitious development of foreign investment in Vietnam and help for Vietnam to reach out for business in the field of international investment. The Center is also supported by the UEB and an advisory council, which includes managers, leading specialists in investment and managers of prestigious enterprisess.

Therefore, the Center provides investors and the community with in-depth reports on foreign investment as well as useful consultancy to help increase the efficiency of investment in Vietnam. The Center is also involved in advising government in planning strategies for attracting and effectively using foreign investment in Vietnam to serve the industrialization and modernization of the country. The goal of the center is to become a researching, training and advising institute on foreign investment in Vietnam, with prestige in the region and the rest of the world.

- The Center for Foreign Investment Studies which is operated under VNU University of Economics and Business. The Center is an income generating administrative agency, having full legal status with its own stamp and bank accounts (including a foreign currency account).

- The Center performs the functions of implementing research, training, consulting activities and organizing conferences on foreign investment as well as other activities as assigned by the Rector.

- Implementing a long-term strategic plan and an annual plan both of which are submitted to the Rector for approval.

- Implementing research activities on foreign investment, consulting, studying the investment strategy of enterprises in Vietnam.

- Implementing research, designing periodical reports on foreign investment and investment forecasts in Vietnam.

- Studying, analyzing and assessing annual reports of UNCTAD on foreign investment.

- Organizing training courses on foreign investment for enterprises, staff and managers.           

- Consulting and implementing consultancy contracts on specific issues that may arise - such as: methods of entering the Vietnam market and seeking investment opportunities; developing foreign investment projects; the establishment and management of foreign enterprises; conducting promotional activities; developing brands in Vietnam, legal issues in business operations; the investment environment in Vietnam and internationally; building relationships with partners, methods of investment on the stock market, and the selection of investment location.

- Organizing events (seminars, conferences, workshops…) related to foreign investment.

- Collaborating with other units to organize joint international training programs.

- Implementing other functional missions as directed by the Rector according to Decision 426/QD-TCNS.
