I. GENERAL INFORMATION

The Center for International Management Studies (CIMS) is an income generating unit, run under VNU University of Economics and Business. The Center was established on 25th June 2010 as per the Decision 1161/QD-TCNS by UEB Rector.

The Center for International Management Studies is specialized in consulting and research on management, business administration, organization development and the enterprises community.

IV. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Functions:

The Center for International Management Studies is operated under VNU University of Economics and Business. It is an income generating administrative agency, having full legal status with its own stamp and bank accounts (including a foreign currency account).

The Center is responsible for implementing research programs, projects on management; organizing short-term training course on management and other international joint training programs (as assigned by the Rector).

2. Responsibilities:

- Implementing a long-term strategic plan and an annual plan both of which are submitted to the Rector for approval.

- Implementing research projects on management or related issues: applying research in modern management technologies, and  developing forums for experience sharing between enterprises.

- Organizing short-term training courses and international joint training programs on management according to international standards. (as assigned by the Rector).

- Organizing consultancy activities, seminars, conference or other relating services.

- Implementing other missions assigned by the Rector according to Decision 1618/QD-TCNS.

V. MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

1. Training:

CIMS implements international joint training programs of graduate and postgraduate degrees with prestigious international institutes and universities. CIMS organizes short-term training courses of management skills, human resources management and other soft skills. Training programs are designed in accordance with analyzing the results of human resources status, training needs and organizational strategic objectives. CIMS applies research findings and consulting experience to its training to assist learners in develop living skills and problem-solving.

International joint training programs:

  • Master in Business Administration (MBA);

  • Master in Human Resource Management;

  • Master in Finance Management, Accounting;

  • Master in Hospitality Management, Tourism;

  • Other programs as needed.

Short-term training courses:

  • Management and leadership skills;

  • Human resources management;

  • Other soft skills training courses as needed.

2. Consultancy:

CIMS provides consulting and technology transferring activities in management, organizational development and human resources management. CIMS’s consultancy is performed based on the application of the world’s advanced managing technology to the reality of each organization. Accompanying its high-qualified consulting specialists, CIMS brings to the customers effective and practical solutions.

3. Research:

CIMS studies management and development. Its researching activities aim to provide and update advanced technology and managing information. Research findings are applied to training and consulting activities to strengthen the theoretical figure and the practicality of the solutions.
