The Center for Higher Educational Quality Assurance, VNU University of Economics and Business  was established according to Decision  2175/QD-TCNS on 9^th December 2009 by the UEB Rector. The Center is set in the aim of strengthening the effectiveness of the training and academic activities of the VNU UEB, towards an institute which is able to provide prestigious consultancy services on quality assurance. The center is expected to become a link for international and domestic organizations of quality assurance and training institutes in Vietnam.

III. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Functions:

The Center for International Training and Education is a unit of VNU University of Economics and Business. The Center is responsible for training, undertaking research, and consulting issues relating to self-evaluation, accreditation, quality assurance, and education effectiveness.

2. Responsibilities:

- Implementing the quality assurance affairs of education and training programs of the University according to the standard of Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam National University and of other international organizations.

- Managing/monitoring/organizing assessment activities at UEB.

- Studying and applying quality assurance models of Vietnam and abroad to the reality; advising the Rector in releasing guidance and regulations on quality assurance and educational quality inspection.

- Proposing improvements after the internal assessment; guiding, monitoring the implementation of quality assurance conditions at the university.

- Organizing training courses on professional performance, quality assessment, quality assurance and testing.

- Collaborating with other units to develop the partnership network with other international quality assurance organizations.

- Developing material for a question bank; advising, managing and assessing on question systems for graduate and postgraduate training programs.

- Monitoring the testing affairs at the university.

- Advising the Management Board in releasing guidance and regulations on examination preparation, assessment of learners’ studying scores.

- Archiving and reserving the data base of quality assurance and testing of the university.

- Collecting data from other UEB units for educational public content.

- Other tasks assigned by the Rector.

1. Objective:

• Improving quality and effectiveness of UEB through designing plans, implementing and assessing the effectiveness of quality assurance affairs at the UEB.

• Becoming a prestigious research and consultancy institute on quality assurance.

• Becoming the link of international quality assurance between organizations and institutions in Vietnam.

2. Strategy:

• Through educational quality assurance, the Center is expected to realize the strategic goals of VNU UEB, which aims to become a high quality research university and to meet an international level.

• Contributing to the development of UEB prestige and brand of the university.

• Promoting the educational quality to national and international standards.

• Contributing to the development of tertiary education in Vietnam.
