Bachelor training program in Business Administration (International standard program)

I. Training program:

1. General information:

Major: Business Administration (International standard program)

Degree: Bachelor

Duration: 4 years of full- time study

Enrollment: Candidates who are high school graduates participate in the annual entrance examination have to meet the entry requirements of VNU, University of Economics and the international standard program of Business Administration Bachelor.

2. Program objectives:

Training Bachelor of Business Administration at international standard, who are capable of working, analyzing, researching, teaching and implementing activities in the field of business administration at enterprises (joint ventures, foreign capital and multinational companies and groups...), universities, institutions and other organizations; be able to continue study to participate in higher education, to gain experience to become leaders, senior experts in business administration.

3. Career orientation for Bachelor of Business Administration:

Group 1- Business Administrator: Being adaptable to high competitive working environment, capable to work at enterprises, economic organizations and other international organizations; can be responsible for tasks of sales, marketing, finance, human resources...; in the future a BBA can become manager of departments, project manager or CEO.

Group 2 - Analyst and consultant of business administration: Being capable to work at business administration consulting organizations, relating ministries, departments and sectors; can assume the tasks such as: analyzing assistant and market reports on business development and assistant for business strategy implementation, human resource planning, establishment... of the enterprise; in the future can become analysts, consultants, leaders of business and organizations.

Group 3: Researcher and Lecturer: Being capable to research and lecturer at universities, research and educational institutes; can assume the tasks of: researching issues relating to business administration; teaching assistant, lecturer of human resourses management, strategy, finance,...; in the future can become researchers, senior lecturers, managers in business administration.

Group 4 - Assistant and Secretary: Can be assume the tasks of an assistant or secretary for director, executive board, domestic and foreign organizations; can undertake the tasks such sas: analyzing assistant, synthesizing reports and advising on business activities such as business strategy, human resources, marketing, finance, support in transacting business, scheduling work for the leadership ... in the future can become chief of departments, manager, director or general director.

II.  Program outcome-based standard:

1. Knowledge competence;

  • Applying general knowledge on career and life.

  • Applying knowledge of mathematics, natural science and basic business administration knowledge on dealing with theoretical and practical issues relating to the major.

  • Applying the basic knowledge of finance, currency, accounting, strategic management as well as production operation, marketing, human resources... to work in the field of business administration.

  • Apply practical knowledge, practice, bachelor of business administration initially have practical knowledge, be familiar with the work in the future.

  • Employing the knowledge of practice and probation, bachelor  to fulfill the assigned tasks.

  • Employing the theoretical and practical knowledge to analyze, synthesize and deal with specific research issues in business administration and to finish graduation theses in English..

2. Skills:

2.1.Professional skills

  • The ability to argue, think systematically, research and resolve issues in the field of business administration.

  • Having professional reasoning skills, research, discovery and problem solving in the field of business administration.

  • May be aware of social context, external environment and organizational context to apply to activities in business administration.

  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills into practice, initially forming creative capability in career development.

2.2.Solf skills:

  • Having the ability to work independently and in team; self-learning and research, working due to plans and scientifically; having time management skill, individual assignment allocating.

  • Having good communication skills (presentation and negotiation skills in business; transaction skill via telephone, e-mail), communicate in English of 4.0 IELTS competence or higher.

  • Having ability to use Microsoft Office proficiently (Word, Excel, Power Point) and statistical and analyzing software, internet and office equipment.


  • Personality: Self-confident, dynamic, enthusiastic, risk-taking, self-respecting, cultural understanding, highly adaptable to new circumstances, standing ready to deal with challenges and aspirations to become entrepreneurs, leaders, senior experts.

  • Professional morality: Having the passion for research and discovering knowledge, responsible, adapting to multicultural environment, disciplined with domestic and international enterprises’ regulations.

  • Social morality: Law-abiding, working with mental discipline, positive lifestyle and attitude towards the community.

III. Conditions of program implementation:

  • Freshmen are encouraged to ensure their English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 to meet the requirements of learning in English in the following years. From the second year, students are going to practice once a year at enterprises to improve actual understanding, experience and ability to apply knowledge learned in practical business.

  • Learning materials used in the program is updated and most instructional materials used in training programs of the Haas School of Business - University of California Berkeley (The US). The program is taught mostly in English with modern methods with experienced faculty graduated from prestigious universities overseas.

  • Students enjoy the counseling service, registration and courses scheduling; participating in research activities, conferences, seminars with domestic and international scientists, entrepreneurs; having the opportunity to receive scholarships from other organizations and individuals; accessing many opportunities of  extracurricular activities and short-term soft skill training courses to cultivate and develop professional, social skills and personalities.
