IV. The main research orientation in the next 5 years

- Systematize fundamental tools to apply in initially implementing the lean management in Vietnam;

- Evaluate current situation of enterprises/organizations to identify wastes (intangible and tangible) and find out unreasonable stages in the system.

- Propose methods and models to apply lean management effectively on Vietnamese enterprises especially SMEs;

- Provide detailed instructions to apply each tool of lean management in practice in terms of implementation procedure, organizational structure, assessment criteria;

- Establish the theoretical foundations to transfer the knowledge of lean management implementation in the manufacturing sector to other service sectors such as health-care, telecommunication, financial service, education and public administration…

- Study some modern techniques such as simulation in assessment of performance effectiveness of lean management;

- Carry out multi-sector research such as research on the relationship of lean management with green supply chains, social responsibility and energy saving…

V. Expected scientific products for the next 5 years

- Publish annual research papers of the research group on “Annual report on Lean management in Vietnamese Enterprises/Organizations”

- Organize annual conferences with the themes related to the application of lean management in Vietnamese organizations which aim at introducing research results of the research group as well as creating Forum for domestic and international scholars.

- Develop handbooks of Lean management (systems of 5S application procedures, Kaizen, Mieruka, criteria for valuing the application effectiveness of lean management) to guide enterprises/organizations to actively implementing lean management.

- Publish research outcomes/results on domestic and international Journals.
