UEB lecturers reported at CDIO Implementation Experience workshop

From 13th to 14th December 2010, the workshop on “Regional CDIO Implementation Experience: Designing Learning Outcomes and Integrated Curriculum” has been held at Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City with UEB lecturers’ attendance.

The workshop is firstly one on CDIO implementation (Conceiving - Designing - Implementing -Operating) held in Vietnam with the participation of nearly 200 delegates from 20 national and international universities.

Attending to the workshop were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Nha - Director and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Kim Long - Vice Director of Academic Affairs Department - VNU;  
Dr. Vu Anh Dung - Dean of Faculty of International Business and Economics, University of Economics and Business - VNU.

At the workshop, participants have reported on some issues such as: the designing and completion of CDIO program in accordance with level 1 to 4, based on surveying the needs of enterprises, lecturers’, alumni’s and students’ ideas; experience of some international universities…

Addressing at the workshop, UEB delegate had a speech on integrated curriculum in approaching CDIO by Prof. Phung Xuan Nha - VNU Vice President cum UEB Rector and Dr. Vu Anh Dung. The report has shown the process of useful practicalities which have been applied at University of Economics and Business - VNU in integrating CDIO approach with curriculum of honor bachelor training program in international economics. The report content and other shared experience by Dr. Vu Anh Dung were highly appreciated in terms of scientific usefulness and practicalities.

Besides scientific significance and practical values of the developing of outcome based standard in approaching CDIO model, the workshop has been a scientific forum, which contributed to the academic exchanging environment among universities of Vietnam and the world. As regarding to University of Economics and Business - VNU, this is a proof for its effort and will to improve training quality, responding the social increasing requirements.
