Representative of UEB attended the “World Finance & Banking Symposium”

On two days 16th and 17th December, 2013, research team on bank restructuring which is chaired by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son – Rector, VNU University of Economics and Bussiness attented the international conference: “World Finance & Banking Symposium” in Beijing, China.

This conference was held annually and attracted nearly 200 scholars from universities and research institutes around the world such as USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, China, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, etc...

The conference was a forum for scientific researchers, professors, fellows to share results and findings of new research on financial topics. The conference was divided into 13 sub-committees, including: , corporate governance, behaviorial Finance, efficient market, capital structureandcost, banks andfinancial institutions, mergersand acquisitions, investment...

On be haft of VNU-UEB research group, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu – lecture of Faculty of Finance and Banking delivered a speech on “Banking restructuring – international experience and practices in Vietnam" at subcommittee on banks and financial institutions. All comments at conference were very useful for the research team to complete the paper, and also suggested new research directions.

After that, VNU-UEB’s research team also joined and discussed at subcommittee on capital structure and cost.

The participation of VNU-UEB’s research team at the conference was very important in expanding VNU-UEB’s research network of banking and finance at forums over the world, contributing to promote the VNU-UEB’s image and positively promoting the process of realizing the goal of building oriented research university.
